He is survived by: his children, Paige Koontz Sherman and Samuel Lincoln Koontz; his granddaughters, Sydney Ann Sherman and Lindsay Grace Sherman; his brother James Jennings Koontz; and his nieces, Beth Koontz Grinstead (Jeff) and Heather Koontz Gomez (Victor).
