He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Ward and Nelma Ward (Stephenson); his brother Charles Ward; his in-laws, H. Buford and Emma Ann Steele; his brother-in-law Steven Steele; and his former wife Jennifer Ball (Joe) of Anderson, IN.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Steele-Ward; his daughters, Andrea Ward-Wiley (Justin) of Las Vegas, NV and Alexandra Miller (Zane) of Christiansburg, VA; his grandchildren, Callan Miller, Kathryn Wiley and Thomas Brooks Wiley; his siblings-in-law, Tim Steele (Sheila), Phillip Steele (Laurie) and Vicki Steele Journell; his nephew Stevie (Stephanie); his former wife Suzie Smith (Keith) of Virginia Beach, VA; and his grandchildren, Morgan, Joshua Smith, Jackson and Drake Ball.
