With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Doris Young Slaughter of Hayes, Virginia, born in Bennington, Vermont, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 20, 2025 at the age of 62. She was predeceased by: her parents, Stanley Young and Lorraine Young (Cooper); and her siblings, Helen Waitekus, Leon Hall and John Young.
She is survived by: her husband Robert Slaughter of Hayes, Virginia; her daughter Paige Pointer (Christopher) of Gloucester, Virginia; her siblings, Loretta Johnson of Montgomery, Virginia Barber of Bennington, Vermont, William Young of Queensbury, Stanley Young Jr. of Davenport, Harry Harmon of Shaftesbury and Richard Harmon of Shaftesbury, Vermont; and her granddaughter Lorraine Elizabeth Pointer. She is also survived by Many nieces and nephews.
