He was predeceased by: his significant other Rosalyn Norvader Quinn; his brother Harry E. Mitchem; and his wife Barbara. He is survived by: his children, Melanie Danforth (Adrin McFerrin) of Gloucester, VA and Stephen D. Mitchem (Jessica) of Orlando, FL.; and his nieces, Linda Triolit (Charlie) and Candy Belvin. He is also survived by her uncle until the end, three nephews, and two more nieces, and a host of cousins.
