He is survived by: his wife Virginia Karen Grimes; his children, Shannon Welch (Tony), Nancy Mitchell (Marshall) and French C. Grimes (Kristen); and his stepson Nathan Lee Harbin (Jessica). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, in addition to many loyal friends.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Preddy Funeral Home (59 Edgewood School Ln, Madison, VA 22727).
