He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Lloyd Cobb and Betty Joyner Cobb; his wife Karen Copley Cobb; and his siblings, Mahlon Cobb, Janice Wehry and Hazel Holtzman.

He is survived by: his children, Sharon Ahlin (Rick), Joseph B Cobb, Jr. (Betsy) and Leslie O'Hern (Tim); and his grandchildren, Cameron O'Hern, Braxton O'Hern and Cliff Boyd.
