It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary Darrah Turner Via of Henry, Virginia, who passed away on July 19, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Hillman Turner and Emma Shumate Turner; her brother James Harvey "John Henry" Turner; and her husband Glen. She is survived by: her children, Pamela Via Foley (Ronald) and Timothy Glenn Via (Jacqueline); her grandson Dr. Garrhett Glenn Via (Colleen); her sister-in-law Lois Via Jarrett (Marshall); and her sibling's children, Vickie Turner Smith (Michael) and Barry Marshall Jarrett (Amy). She is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Bassett Funeral Service (3665 Fairystone Park Hwy, Bassett, VA 24055). A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at the Roselawn Burial Park (103 Clearview Dr, Martinsville, VA 24112).
In lieu of flowers, Darrah requested that memorial donations be made to the Fort Trial Baptist Church Building Fund, 170 Oak Level Road, Stanleytown, VA 24168.
