We are sad to announce that, on December 19, 2025, at the age of 84, Alma Beach Updike of Herndon, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Warren Beach and Alice Beach; her husband Ray Updike; and her siblings, Richard, Floyd, Eugene, Lavinia (Beanie), Eleanor, Evelyn and Alice.

She is survived by: her children, Raeburn Updike, Russell Updike (Jennifer), Richard Updike and Renea Barta (Jeffrey); her grandchildren, Ryan Jeffrey Barta, Trent Justice Updike, Eli Jackson Updike and Ava Grace Updike; and her sisters, Barbara Bilbow and Nancy Ellen.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Alma's memory to Herndon United Methodist Church (http://www.herndonumc.org.).
