Though Erika Esperanza Chiu may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Erika Esperanza Chiu touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She is survived by: her husband Kilvet A. Zalavarria Cabrera of Sterling, VA; her daughters, Katherine Hernandez of Chantilly, VA and Kiara Hernandez of Chantilly, VA; her mother Blanca Alba Montoya of Peru; and her brother Francisco Chiu Alba of Peru. She is also survived by many extended family members, multiple best friends, friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 29th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Adams-Green Funeral Chapel (721 Elden St, Herndon, VA 20170). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Timothy Catholic Church (13807 Poplar Tree Rd, Chantilly, VA 20151).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to INOVA Life with Cancer (lifewithcancer.org), in memory of Erika's fight and her commitment to helping others.
