It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Greenspan (Herndon, Virginia), who passed away on May 22, 2026, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the vast expanse of eternity, may Gary find peace everlasting, cradled in the gentle embrace of the universe. And as we stand on the shores of remembrance, may his legacy inspire us to live each day with purpose, passion, and profound gratitude for the gift of life itself.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Saul Greenspan and Sherry Greenspan. He is survived by: his wife Ellyn Cowan; his children, Ethan and Jenna; and his son-in-law King Barua.

In lieu of flowers, the family has gratefully asked for donations to be made in his honor to Congregation Beth Emeth, or the National Park Foundation.

He treated my aging mother with genuine respect and dignity, even as her memory was failing. He spoke with her about dentistry and dental hygiene from her years teaching Dental Hygiene at ODU, making her feel seen, valued, and worthy. His compassion was rare, and our family is grateful to have known him.”
