It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Ellen McAuley (Herndon, Virginia), who passed away on April 5, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mary Ellen McAuley to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Alfred Lawrence and Mary Catherine Lawrence; her siblings, Frank Lawrence and Theresa Lawrence; and her granddaughter Mary Read.

She is survived by : her husband Joseph McAuley; her children, Catherine Read (Peter), Michael McAuley (Joann) and Colleen Simmons (Christopher); her grandchildren, Stephen Read, Patrick Read, Brendan Read, Colleen Read, Kevin Read, Andrea Guzman, Caitlyn Simmons, Michael Simmons and Emily Simmons; and her siblings, Raymond Lawrence (Beverly), Kathleen Thorne (Robert), James Lawrence (Janice) and Thomas Lawrence. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Adams-Green Funeral Chapel (721 Elden St, Herndon, VA 20170). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Theresa Catholic Church (21370 St Theresa Ln, Ashburn, VA 20147).
