With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gordon Glenn Sowers of Hillsville, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 11, 2026 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Gordon departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Gordon may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Gordon leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter "Cub" Sowers and Viola Webb Sowers; and his half-sister Ila Sutphin. He is survived by: his sister Marie; his brother-in-law Jack Cox; his nephew Steven (Bonnie Cox); his niece Lisa Cox; his great-nephew Andrew Cox; and his great-niece Jenna Cox.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Gladesboro Cemetery.
