Lydia Ellen Phillips Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on December 21, 2025, at the age of 91, Lydia Ellen Phillips of Hillsville, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Lee Franklin and Ruth Reynolds Franklin; and her husband Chester Ray Phillips. She is survived by: her children, Chip Phillips (Martha), Frankie Phillips (Angie) and Bradley Phillips (Sheila); her grandchildren, Jennifer Long (Jordan), Ashley Guynn (David), Sydney Butterworth (Jason), Ryan Phillips, Brogan Philips and Landon Phillips; her great grandchildren, Aiden Guynn, Emorie Butterworth, Declan Butterworth and Harper Long; her brother Layman "Jack" Franklin (Peg); her sister-in-law Lucy Franklin; and her caregivers, Derenda, Karen, Judy, Katrina and Elaine. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice.
