He was predeceased by: his wife Bonnie Jean Mayle; his parents, Earl Franklin Bayes and Glennie Gruber Bayes; and his sisters, Ruth Freeman and Shirley Fishaber.
He is survived by: his children, Tom Bayes and Kim; his son-in-law Paul Marcotte; his close friends, Mollie and Buddy; and his friend Hope. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
