He is survived by: his wife Shirley Compton; his children, Brent Compton of Myrtle Beach and Diana Renfro of Kingsport, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Aaron Renfro (Devon) of Knoxville, Tennessee and Jenna Compton of Myrtle Beach; his great grandchildren, Hayley Dotson, Pennie Renfro and Maddie Renfro; his stepchildren, Don Morefield of Grundy, Dwayne Morefield of Charlotte and Jennifer Taylor of Big Rock, Virginia; and his close friends, Cindy Kemp and Jackie Bandy. He is also survived by several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends and neighbors.
