He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie Puckett and Bertha Mae Lambert Puckett; his siblings, W. G. Puckett, Sally Stanley, Lois Ludowici, Gaye Moats and Glenda Gaby; his father-in-law Sammy Murphy; and his brother-in-law Larry Murphy.

He is survived by: his wife Betty Murphy Puckett; his daughter Susan Puckett Hale (Jamie) of Kingsport, Tennessee; his grandsons, Noah Hale and Isaac Hale; his siblings, Roger Puckett (Diane), Joe Puckett, Peggy Brooks, Arlene Puckett, Bonnie Runions (Dan), Becky Woods (Dean), Pam Puckett and Johnnie Thompson (Clinton); his mother-in-law Virginia Lois Murphy; and his siblings-in-law, Ivadene Hughes (Donnie), Trish Stinson (Larry), Ricky Murphy (Denise), Bobby Murphy (Regina) and Edmond Stanley. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
