She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Atkinson, Jr.; her daughter Elizabeth Parker; her parents, Russell Cottrell and Bernice Cottrell; and her sister Bernice Vaughan.

She is survived by: her children, Gene Atkinson, Wayne Atkinson, Troy Atkinson and Laurie Sloan; and her brother Russell Cottrell, Jr.. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
