He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Merrill Byrd and Fannie B. Ballard-Alvis. He is survived by: his wife Lisa Cooke; his son Benjamin John Byrd; his sister Eva Porter of Sanford, VA; his granddaughter Brittany Lynn Byrd; and his great grandchild Nova.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 11th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the New Church.
