It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sherman Eugene Hatfield of Huddleston, Virginia, who passed away on October 7, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by : his wife Mary Elizabeth Hatfield (Betsy); his daughters, Cynthia Hatfield, Shawn Hatfield and Lori Ray (Jeff); his stepsons, Brett Herman and Brian Herman (Carolyn); his grandchildren, Jeremiah Hatfield, Kristy Hatfield, Zeke Slivka, Lydia Hatfield and Madison Triplett; his stepgrandchildren, Gabrielle Herman, Michael Herman, Corinne Herman, William Herman and Andrea Herman; his great grandchildren, Micah Hatfield, Jadon Miller and Lakin Blu; and his close friend Wally Wagner.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Patmos United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 170, Huddleston, VA, 24104.

“I just found out about Gene's passing. I am so sorry for your loss. Gene was my first cousin as our Mothers were sisters. (Gladys and Eileen). I remember Gene fondly from my childhood and his earlier medical practice. I remember him visiting us in Simon and bringing the girls when they were just little. My deepest sympathy to all.
