He is survived by : his children, Tiomthy Dale Dotson of Hillsville, VA, Kandace Dotson of Big Rock, VA and Shalyn Meadows of Hurley, VA; his close friend Nell Stiltner of Hurley, VA; and his siblings, Teresa Dotson of Roanoke, VA, Candace "Janie" Horton (Phillip) of Rural Retreat, VA, Curtis Rash of Rural Retreat, VA and Timothy Dotson (Sharon) of Burkeville, VA.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
