In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Carol leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Carol may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Cochran and Audrey Birchfield Cochran. She is survived by: her children, Jo Ann (Sterling Goodson), Kenneth (Brittany Phillips) and Jerry D. "J. D." Phillips II of Independence, VA; her brother Ronnie (Mary Cochran); and her close friends, Debbie Bass, Mary Shaw, Robin Quesenberry, Cindy Combs and Sherry Dowell. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel (44 Dan Walters Dr, Independence, VA 24348). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
