He was predeceased by: his parents, William R. Halsey and Verdie Pendry Halsey of Virginia; his brother Bill Halsey; and his siblings-in-law, Lou Halsey and H. P. Adams, Jr..
He is survived by: his siblings, Ronald Halsey (Rye) of Hamptonville, NC, Musetta Adams (Sis) of Mouth and Shirley (Polly); his sister-in-law Betty Halsey of Murrells Inlet, SC; and his caregiver Whitney Shore. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care 243 N. Lee Avenue Yadkinville, NC 27055 or Tranquility Care of Winston-Salem, 5100 Lansing Drive Winston Salem, NC 27105. The family request that food donations be taken to the Grassy Creek Baptist Church Fellowship Hall following the committal services.
