It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Thomas Godsey of Independence, Virginia, who passed away on March 26, 2022, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his wife Opal Ruth Godsey of Independence, VA; his siblings, William McCoy, Danny McCoy, Johnny Ray McCoy, Jimmy McCoy, Lawerence McCoy, Jennie Kay Cassell, Virginia Lee Pierce, Ruth Ann Boyd, Sally Jean Bond and Penny White; and his stepchildren, Audrey R. Johnson, James Chyenne Bourne, Cody Kyle Bourne, Linda Dixon, Sandy Brown, Joyce Grover, Stephanie Mills and Larry Isom. He is also survived by several step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
