He was predeceased by: his parents, Blake Spencer and Viola Spencer of Whitetop Community; and his sister Carol Miller of Reading, MA.. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Spencer; his daughters, Carolyn and Margaret Spencer; his granddaughter Clara Spencer-Patience; and his siblings, June, Dale Phipps of Independence, VA and LaVerne Kiser of Volney.
