It is with sadness that the passing of Sally G. Velvin (Jarratt, Virginia) is shared. Sally, born on February 15, 1945, passed away on September 2, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Edward C. Velvin, Jr.; her parents, Henry H. Grizzard and Mary M. Grizzard; and her siblings, Joyce Whitehead, Frances Dixon and Lawrence Grizzard.
She is survived by: her children, Chris Velvin, Sr. and Carol Grizzard (Carl); her grandchildren, Brandon Grizzard (Samantha), David Grizzard (Jo-Jo), Megan Wilson, Chris Velvin, Jr., Dawn Velvin and Brooke Velvin (Eric); and her sister Baby Woodruff. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Owen Funeral Home (303 S Halifax Rd, Jarratt, VA 23867). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Adams Grove Baptist Church, 24465 Adams Grove Rd, Emporia, Virginia 23847.
