He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Ray and Addie Pauline Ely (Musick); and his siblings, Gladys Marie Parks (John), Betty June Humbert (Blaine), Robert Ray Ely and Don Hobert Ely.
He is survived by: his sisters, Anna Mae Slemp of Dryden, VA and Joyce Ann Mullins of Jonesville, VA. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 1:50 PM at the Powell Valley Cemetery (575 Dryden Loop, Dryden, VA 24243). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
