She was predeceased by: her mother Crystal Fern Poteet (Pennington); her husband Ronald Pendergraft; and her brother-in-law Lynn Pendergraft. She is survived by: her father Howard Denver Poteet (Sue) of Kingsport, TN; her daughter Whitney Taylor (Adam) of Johnson City; her stepson Ronnie Pendergraft Jr. (Stacey Hobbs) of Elizabethton; her sister Sherry Poteet Hensley; her granddaughters, Landry Taylor, Anniston Taylor and Olivia Ahmad; her stepsister Jennifer Kiser (Drew); her aunts, Patsy Poteet Greer (Bill), Dottie Livesay and Floe Diffenderfer; her uncle A. M. "Dood" Poteet of Jonesville; and her siblings-in-law, Tommy Pendergraft (Gwen), Gary Pendergraft (Donna), Roger Pendergraft, Lana Pendergraft, Janice Hartley (Rick) and Donna Browder. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, close relatives, and special friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sturgill Funeral Home (298 Harrell St, Pennington Gap, VA 24277). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
A memorial tribute video will be provided by Sturgill Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that, in Susan's memory, you adopt a child for Christmas or visit your local Angel Tree and sponsor a child's Christmas.
