He was predeceased by : his parents, Olen Salyer and Madge Salyer of Nickelsville, VA.; his sisters, Christine Horne and Melinda Burke; and his parents-in-law, Willard and Pauline Payne.
He is survived by : his wife Gwendola Salyer (Payne) of Jonesville, VA; his children, Kim Sheppard (Mark) of Abingdon, VA and Brian Salyer (Angela) of Limestone, TN; his grandchildren, Whitney Trinkle (Brandon) of Jonesville, VA, Lindsey Carrier (Chris) of Bristol, TN and Cody Salyer of Limestone, TN; his great grandchildren, Sophia and Ellie Carrier; and his siblings, Harold Salyer of Harrisonburg, VA and Barbara Testerman (Jim) of Delaware. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
