He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Judson Brown, Jr. and Peggy Ely Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Janet Holley Brown; his son Justin Nelson Brown (Randi) of Keeling, VA; his grandchildren, Lexi Brown of Keeling, VA and Levi Brown of Keeling, VA; his siblings, Dr. James E. Thompson (April) of Forest, VA, David A. Thompson (Julie) of Danville, VA and Ruth T. Walden (Ronnie); and his nieces and nephews, Abby of Keeling, VA, Meghan, Melissa, Moriah, Allen, Ashlee, Hannah, Jackie, Kerri, Doug and Paul.

Also, the family suggest that memorials may be made to the Danville-Pittsylvania County Cancer Association, Inc, 223 Riverview Drive, Suite J, Danville, VA 24541.
