It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Jean Wright of Kenbridge, Virginia, who passed away on April 21, 2026, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Betty may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Betty touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Partello and Olive Partello; and her son Leland James Houghton. She is survived by: her children, Nancy Maria Wright of Kenbridge, Chester William Houghton of Maine, Jamie Michael Wright of Florida and John Gary Wright of Kenbridge. She is also survived by many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was held on Monday, April 27th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church (105 Franklin St, South Hill, VA 23970).
