He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie James Covington and Clydie Kinzie Covington. He is survived by: his wife Genevieve D. Covington; his children, Linda C. Wallace (Wayne) and Robert James "Bobby" Covington (Tammy); his stepdaughter Patricia Anderson (John); his grandchildren, Christopher Wallace (Joanie), Jennifer Wallace, Brandon Covington and Misty Covington; his stepgranddaughters, Tammy Bishop and Crystal Spradlin (Jay); and his great grandchildren, Cayley, Jonathan and Cadence. He is also survived by 6 step-great- grandchildren, and one step- great-great-grandson.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, August 19th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Clarke Funeral Home (110 E 5th Ave, Kenbridge, VA 23944). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 19th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
