He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Lee Lacks and Patsye Thompson Lacks; and his siblings-in-law, Randolph McDowell and W. J. "Dunnie" Nichols. He is survived by: his wife Janice Salley Lacks; his sons, Richard Christopher Lacks (Amy) and Michael James Lacks (Kristin); his grandchildren, Joshua Lee Lacks, Jason Robert Lacks, Samuel Philip Lacks, Esther Mariah Lacks, Audrey Marie Lacks and William Colton Lacks; his sisters, Carolyn Lacks Nichols of Halifax and Margaret Lacks McDowell of Celebration, Florida; and his sister-in-law Geneva Salley Lotspeich (Clyde) of Parksley, Virginia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and very special friends.
