He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Edgar Shaw and Naomi Whitaker Shaw; and his brothers, William "Willie" Shaw and James "Jim" Shaw. He is survived by: his wife Rosa Lee Myrick Shaw; his stepdaughters, Ella (Jody), Eunice (Scott) and Christy (Steve); and his sisters, Iris Kenny, Claudia Hill (Ernie) and Betty Bates (Bill). He is also survived by seven step-grandchildren; thirteen step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Clarke Funeral Home (110 E 5th Ave, Kenbridge, VA 23944). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
