He was predeceased by: his parents, Earsel Gibson and Sophie Gibson; his grandsons, Robert Lewis Gibson and Norman Robert Dodson, Jr.; and his brother Frank "Jakie" Gibson.
He is survived by: his wife Mildred "Millie" Gibson; his daughters, Teresa Freix, Stefanie Dodson and Sandy Gibson-Conner; his siblings, Walter "Cracker" Gibson and Helen "Lizzie" Long; and his grandchildren, Justin Coleman, Edward Coleman, Telisa Dodson and Oliver Conner III. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
