She was predeceased by : her father Bennie Thompson; her husband Lester Harris; her brother Gerald Wood, Sr.; her grandparents, Deacon James and Blanche Wood; her mother-in-law Mary F. Harris; and her brother-in-law Hayward Harris.

She is survived by : her pet Cocoa Harris; her children, Lamont Harris of Lynchburg, VA and Simone Harris of Keysville, VA; and her siblings, Wanda Moseley (Charles) of Georgia, Tanisha Blakeney (Michael) of Georgia, Shawana Royster of Richmond, VA, Martin, Fred Wood of Wylliesburg, VA and David Thompson of Drakes Branch, VA. She is also survived by four sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law.
