We bid farewell to Irma Henderson Burke (Kilmarnock, Virginia), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on March 14, 2026 at the age of 110. Irma touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leslie Pascal and Catherine Brent Lawson Henderson; and her great-grandparent Major Charles N. Lawson (Lawson-Ball Encampment). She is survived by: her husband Wade Raleigh Burke; her siblings, Augusta Dize, Gwendolyn McKendree, Celeste Davis, Orville and Vergil Henderson; her granddaughter Amy Brent Dawson; her niece Maxine Dize Somervell; her nephew Dane Dize; her daughter Catharine Burke Moore (Wade) of Lancaster; and her grandson Burke Dawson of Tyler, Texas.
Mrs. Burke celebrated her 105th birthday during Covid, with the first drive-through parade at RW-C. On September 10, 2025, Irma was interviewed by CBS Channel 6's Greg McQuade for his segment, "I Have a Story," which aired September 19-21.
