He was predeceased by: his father Roger Staples; and his great-niece Summer Jean Collins. He is survived by: his significant other Priscilla Morgan; his mother Mary Staples Dodd; his daughter Amanda Amaya; his siblings, Wendy Newton (Bobby), Doug Staples (Jennifer) and Rodney Staples (Lisa); his grandchildren, Anthony Cruz, Isabel Cruz and Johnathan Amaya; and his nephews, Tyler, Matthew, Wyatt and Marlon. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
