He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Burton and Dorothy Burton; his father-in-law Warren Purks; his brother Victor Burton; his stepfather Charlie Seay; his mother-in-law Hope Purks; and his nephew-in-law Dave Hammond.
He is survived by: his wife Ethel Purks Burton; his children, Brad Burton and Sherry Barish (Steve); his grandchildren, Austin Burton and Kayla Barish; his great grandchildren, Kamdyn Burton and Karson Burton; and his nieces, Tonia Burton-Bouchard (Craig) and Christa Burton-Hammond. He is also survived by cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Potomac Baptist Church (8103 Comorn Rd, King George, VA 22485). A memorial service was held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM and at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Cancer Society.
