He was predeceased by: his father Ora Thayer Booth; his siblings, Willard Hopseker, Elwood Hopseker, Warren Hopseker, Lawrence Hopseker, Doris Champion, Dorothy Snyder and Joyce Rice; and his sons-in-law, Scott Gould and Steven Lauffer.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Diane Oakes Hopseker; his children, Debra Thompson (Edwin), Carol Lauffer, William Hopseker (Delia) and Laurie Christensen (Darrell); his sisters, Lois Davis and Eudora Kanaley; his grandchildren, Jonathan (Caren), Jeffrey, James, Julie (Ken), Richard (Jessica), Christopher, Melina, Joseph (Lizette), Tonja, Saviira (Raul), William Jr., Darrell, Amanda (Rafal), Kriscia, Liam, Mac, Seth, Naomi and Leela; his great grandchildren, Natalie, Emily, Ellie, Mollie, Michael (Taylor), Nikki, Bruce, Audrey, Scott, Kaleb, Devin, Damian, Angelica, Erin, Luis, Sofia, Rigby, Penelope, Kai and Ivan; and his great great grandchild Hendrix. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, along with countless friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Richard's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
