He was predeceased by: his parents, William Henry Smith and Margaret Ann Connors Woodley; his wife Katherine Mae King Smith; his son-in-law Keith Lewis; and his brothers, William "Bill" Smith, Albert Smith and James Lyell Smith.
He is survived by: his daughter Kathleen Smith Lewis; his grandson Austin Hunter Lewis; his sisters, Jean O'Quinn, Barbara Stevens and Elizabeth Davis; his sister-in-law Grace Smith; his pet Biscuit; and his caregivers, Sonja Douglas, Marlene Veney and Sharita Thompson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
