She is survived by: her daughters, Benita and Anitra; her grandchildren, Nyla Simone, Nuri, Amara, Maverik and Baby Sholebo; her husband Hashim Lateef; her children, Bashir (Joanna), Fadeelah, Shahidah (Farouk) and Zaid; her siblings, Larry (Bernice), Wilma (Ron), Tony (Connie), Charles and Debra (Shaheed); and her aunts, Dorothy, Barbara and Ethel. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, cousins, classmates and dear friends.
