She was predeceased by: her parents, Sirreather Wilkins Harris and William Henry Harris; her grandsons, Caleb and Christian Baird; her brothers, James Harris and William Harris; and her brother-in-law Ray Collins.
She is survived by: her significant other James Harvey Hicks, Sr.; her children, Janine Coleman (Clarence) of Raleigh, Jalana Barner (Adrian) of White Plains, Virginia and James Hicks, Jr. (Jessica) of San Antonio, Texas.; her grandchildren, Justin, Jada, Chloe, Chelsea Coleman of Raleigh, Caitlyn Baird of Knoxville, Chaylen Nunn, Jazlynn, Jacqueline and Jesslynn Hicks of San Antonio, Texas; her sisters, Elizabeth Collins of Richmond and Betty Knight (Robert) of Petersburg, Virginia; her sisters-in-law, Athanell Harris of Virginia Beach, Ardelle Green, Mary Cooks of Boston, Virginia Hill (Melvin) of Warfield, VA and Margaret McCall of Baltimore, Maryland; her goddaughters, Valerie Knight of Brooklyn and Latonia Williams of Richmond, Virginia; and also Cayden Baird of Stony Creek, Virginia.. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Brown's Memorial Chapel (704 N Main St, Lawrenceville, VA 23868). A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (18585 Christanna Hwy, Lawrenceville, VA 23868). A burial was held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at the First Baptist Church Cemetery (18585 Christanna Hwy, Lawrenceville, VA 23868).
