He is survived by: his daughters, Janet Smith and Carolyn Susie Grizzle (James "Bear"); his granddaughters, Miranda V. Osborne and Jennifer Hagy; his siblings, Cecil Salyers (Mayola) and Lou Ellen Moore (Roger); his sisters-in-law, Marion Gray Salyer and Rita Bragg Burke (Robert); and his pet Tucker. He is also survived by many special friends, nieces and nephews.
