He was predeceased by: his parents, Bjarne Austad and Maria Busk Austad; and his wife Nancy Truscello Austad. He is survived by: his close friend Jean Comings; and his stepsons, Carl Schoner and Steve Schoner. He is also survived by 3 children and grandchildren.
They moved to Leesburg, VA to be closer to Jeans family in 2020 during the pandemic.
