She was predeceased by: her sister Betty Lou; her brother-in-law Hal Leubner; her nephew Jon Leubner; her father Louis Jay Kearan Morgan; and her daughter Rebecca.

She is survived by: her sister Kate Morgan; her nieces and nephews, Joy Morgen, Rebecca Kuehn and Roshanna Sylvester; her son-in-law Robin Burke; her son David Sylvester; her daughter-in-law Kim Sylvester; and her grandchildren, Kaethe Tobias (Victor), Mia Kuehn (Arya Khosravi), John David Sylvester, Ian Morgan Burke (Maddie), Abigail Ware (Jackson), Margaret Bolton (Allan) and Morgan Sylvester.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations in memory of Irene to the Milwaukee Art Museum.
