He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Warner and Grace van Cott Warner. He is survived by: his wife Janna Warner; his children, John W. Warner III and Tracy S. Warner; and his brother Gregory V. Warner.
In1990, he received the William H. Spurgeon III Award, the highest award to organizations and individuals in recognition of their significant leadership and contribution to the Exploring Program.
