He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Payton Leach and Viola Leach Brewster; his wife Margot Leach; and his brothers, Daniel Leach (Dan), Robert Leach (Bob) and Theodore Leach (Ted).

He is survived by: his former spouse Walton Richard Brewster (Walt); his children, Brenda Leach McCaffrey (Jim) of Atlanta, Georgia, Walton Leach (Kimberly) of Leesburg, James Leach (Montine) and Andrew Leach of Sterling, Virginia; and his granddaughters, Grace, Sierra, Aunna (Sky), Acadia, Aubrey and Alexis.
