He was predeceased by: his parents, James Carter Breinig and Anna Belle Ansel Breinig; and his brother James Breinig. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Smith Breinig; his son Joseph Edward Breinig II (Theresa) of Leesburg, VA; his grandchildren, Christopher Taylor, Grace Taylor and Thomas Breinig; his great grandchild Christine Moye (Joe) of Aldie, VA; his siblings, John Breinig (Geraldine) and Nancy Wade (Al) of Raleigh, NC.; John Ryan Moye, Claire Lynn Moye and James David Moye.
