He was predeceased by: his parents, Bretherd Mellott and Lola Gale Ream Mellott; and his siblings, Lucille, Hillis, Eloise and Jeniene.
He is survived by: his children, Scott C. Mellott (Denise Emery) and Christina Lea (Kyle Zimmerman); his former wife Cynthia G. Mellott; his grandchildren, Molly, Tyler, Sam, Camille, Claudia and Sofia; and his sisters, Betty and Linda.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Max's memory to The American Lung Association.
