He was predeceased by : his parents, R. Marshall Taylor and Dare B. Taylor. He is survived by : his wife Patsy S. Taylor; his daughter Drew T. Hensley (Steven); his sisters, Marsha T. Rew (William) and Anne Warren Ferguson; and his grandchild Grayson Lane Hensley. He is also survived by two nephews; and a niece.

“I am so sorry to hear of Richard's passing. He touched my heart when I was a young girl as my parents bought me my first pony , "ZERO" and I kept him on Richard's parents place. The whole family welcomed me with open arms and taught me to ride and welcomed me into their home. What a wonderful and loving man and his family. I hope you find comfort in the many wonderful memories you share. I feel blessed to be part of his and his family's life”
